A gentle gem of a game from the kindly knight to the slow meditative soundtrack. The knight's face was well animated and expressive; really liked the b&w aesthetic as well, made it really stand out from the pack visually. And from one writer to another, your dialogue was charming, original, and wonderfully bittersweet. Thank you for your hard work, effort, time, and creativity. You should be very proud of your amazing work :)

Thank you for this wonderful message ❤️.  I was having a really rough day today and your kind words have brought a tear to my eye. I haven't considered myself a writer so being called that is honestly so nice to hear. I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! I'm currently working on a big project for Hyakuten Games at the moment that will be released this year which is very exciting but I'm hoping to do a few solo games as well so stay tuned! Thank you so much again, you really made my day.  🥰🥰🥰

You absolutely are a writer. And a game designer. And a game dev. And a wonder to me. I’ll keep my eye out for the big release, but I have to admit that I will really keep an eye out for your solo projects! Keep making games!! And I’d love for you to try the game I worked on, The Ouroboros Express. It’s long but I enjoyed playing and writing it.
And I’m glad I could bring joy to your day. Allons-y!!!

Thanks for playing 😁

ending 3 was my favorite, frederick is a sweetheart!

Thank you 🥰

This was a sincerely wonderful visual novel!

Frederick was such a sweet character, I freakin' adored him! (I would give him the world. He deserves so much)
And the two good endings were lovely. I even got a bit emotional over them 😅

The story was really cool overall, actually. I loved the twist with the player character! It was fun kind of exploring the different outcomes and whether they start to regain their memories or not.
Also, the art style really suited the whole setting. The black and white illustrations were all beautiful.

I look forward to seeing more of your solo stuff in the future!

Thank you so much for playing! Loved watching your play through 🥰.

So happy you enjoyed the endings! When I was making the game I wasn’t sure what to do for the good end and then I was like…why don’t I have two haha.

I’m looking forward to doing more solo projects in the future 😁. I think we will see Frederick’s wizard friend Henry in the future but he might not be what you expect haha.

SO CUUUUTTTEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I absolutely love the reveal at the end!!!! AAHH what a delightful twist!!!

Hahaha! Thank you!

I love Frederick and would die for him. The game's overall style was impeccable. The sketchy, pencil (maybe charcoal?) art style WAS AMAZING! It's always a treat to see this kind of style in games.

I loved that even though the game's color palette was black and white (for the most part), Frederick popped out against the dark, ominous dungeon background.

The music was also fantastic too, excellent job in choosing the music! Each track matched up with the scene's perfectly. My favorite HAS to be "Slow Motion." It's gentle and slow. Aside from me being an absolute sucker for slow songs with strings + piano involved, the track really encompassed the warm yet somber atmosphere the game had going for it. Frederick's would look at you warmly and without judgement, meanwhile the player, may have had other intentions and could easily eat him invoking that somber tone I mentioned earlier; invoking a sense of guilt.

Anyway, enough rambling! Fantastic job. I'm looking forward to playing more games from you!

Omg thank you so much for the comment and review! I appreciate all the Frederick love! He brings the brightness to the darkest of locations haha.

I'm glad you liked the artsyle and the black and white palette. I want to try and experiment with limited colours in future games as well.

I had a lot of fun picking the music so I'm happy you thought they fitted the mood well.

Thanks again! I'm looking forward to doing more solo projects in the future.

This was really sweet!! Love the vibes of the art, Frederick is a perfect little meow meow, and the "twist" of the story actually really justified a lot of things I typically don't enjoy about 2nd person narration!

Great job!!

Thank you so much for the comment 😁. I’m glad you enjoyed the story 💖

This was such a beautiful story, I really loved this and the way you wrote the characters!

Aww thank you! 🥰

I absolutely love this game! I was completely captivated by the entire story. It is such a short and sweet story and I think I cried from all the heartwarming interactions. Amazing work!

Thank you so much! 🥰 Sorry I made you cry! Frederick is just too sweet haha.

WOW I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS AT ALL

I'll start off with the art and writing. I absolutely loved the use of the black and white aesthetic - it was so subtly eerie and yet warm and nostalgic at the same time (I really think it played so nicely with the two "moods" of the game). The rough "charcoal"-like art looked SO nice. Frederick's sprite was absolutely adorable, especially his expressions, and the CGs were beautifully done. The writing was very well-done, with a fairytale-like quality to the delivery, and the way that certain twists and turns were hidden by the narration was REALLY brilliant in a way that I wasn't expecting.

===SPOILERS===

I really love how, over the course of the story, there are little hints dropped as to the MC's true identity, without being entirely clear until the very end. The way the MC is shocked that Frederick treats them normally, how he gives them normal food. Something that I didn't realize until my second playthrough is that, indeed, the MC also doesn't really "speak" - instead, most of what they communicate to Frederick can be conveyed through nods and shakes of the head. I can honestly say that while I was suspecting that the MC was a monster of some kind, the fact that they were a DRAGON makes so much sense, and is such a sweet concept for a game - the knight comes to rescue the dragon. There's a good variety of endings here, and I like how Frederick can either stay with you or leave with you - either offering you comfort in your lair or showing you freedom. Throughout the entire game, Frederick is a complete sweetheart, and it was painful eating him...(and casting the next "knight" in silhouette, not showing his face, was a very clever move - showing that the MC has completely lost their humanity).

This was such a well-done game, absolutely brilliantly conceived and executed. I am shocked that this was your first solo game, rose!!! You did such a great job, I had so much fun with it!

Thank you so much for the kind words Chatter 💖. Honestly it has made my day!

I’m really glad that you enjoyed the story! The writing was the most difficult part for me so I’m so happy that you liked it. It took me quite a long time to write especially in regard to the twist with the mc as I wanted to make sure it was hinted throughout but also wasn’t too obvious.

The black and white aesthetic was one of the first ideas I had for the game. As you said, I wanted to create a mood that would match the story. I also thought it might be a fun nod to the fact that the mc might not actually be able to see colour considering what they are.

I’m so glad you liked Frederick as well! He’s a real softie so I’m thrilled that came across in the writing and art.

I really enjoyed making this solo game so I’m definitely going to make a few more in the future 💖. Thanks again for the lovely comment!

So cute 😭

Thank you 🥰

Frederick was such a cinnamon roll! <3

The writing style was utterly gorgeous, and it had a lot of mood and feeling in it! (:

I also adored the greyscale artwork, and the way you presented everything in the story flow.

Additionally, the way you wrote the character interactions and inner monologues was very realistic.

Also, I left a bit of a longer review with more feedback, if that's all right. I honestly can't wait to see more solo work by you, since this work contained such a poignant and lovely story~!

Awwww thank you so much for the lovely comment ❤️.  I'm so happy you enjoyed the game.

Frederick is a sweetheart haha. As I was writing him he definitely became a lot softer. Also when I was drawing him I tried to make sure he had very adorkable expressions 😂.

I was really nervous about the writing so I'm really glad that you thought it had a lot of feeling in it! It was tricky balancing what information I wanted to get across to the player and also keep the story moving forward at the same time.

Thank you for the review as well 🥰. I did really enjoy making this game so I'm definitely interested in making a few more solo games.
